‘Conserve wetland’

HYDERABAD: T. Patanjali Sastry of Rajahmundry-based Environment Centre has urged the State’s Biodiversity Board to be pro-active in conserving wetlands. In view of ‘World Wetlands day’, to be observed on February 2, he said wetlands protected the rich biodiversity and many of them were home to a number of species of migratory birds. Stating that a number of irrigation tanks were home to migratory birds, he urged to protect the habitat.
